Cal-State Fullerton's Austin Kingsolver almost had his last name changed to Eunuchsolver. In the top of the seventh inning, Arizona State pitcher Josh McAlister let a pitch get away from him and it hit Kingsolver in a VERY sensitive area!

Is there any team in America that took a bigger nosedive than USC? From pre-season Number 1 to a 7-6 finish after getting bounced by Georgia Tech, 21-7, in the Hyundai Sun Bowl, the Trojans looked like they were sleepwalking. It sure didn't help that the team didn't seem very happy to be in El Paso. Either way, head coach Lane Kiffin had this message for the city of El Paso and USC fans.

Mostly, it was just cold for Mike Price and the UTEP Miners. Cold north wind, cold-blooded opponent, cold shoulder from the fans. Listed attendance at the Sun Bowl for UTEP's 31-24 loss to Central Florida was 25,483. Big men, perimeter shooters, solid guards and athleticism. You'll pardon UTEP head men's basketball coach Tim Floyd if he seems cautiously optimistic for his 2012-13 Miners. El Paso gets its first look Saturday night for free at the Haskins Center for the Orange & White scrimmage.

Wisconsin may have taken care of business against UTEP, winning, 37-26; but the Miners did nothing to take away from their growing reputation as a physical team, including DB Richard Spencer's big hit on Badgers' Montee Ball that forced the all-America running back's first fumble ever.
