The one consolation we had with all this construction was that, "it couldn't get any worse", right? Apparently, it can.

The original plan for the downtown street car project called for construction to occur in certain segments, at certain times. Now they've decided to save time by working on everything at once, 24 hours a day.

From January 17th - January 30th, El Paso Herald Post says to expect::

  • Paisano Drive closed to thru traffic between Chihuahua Street and El Paso Street
  • Paisano Drive closed to thru traffic between Stanton Street and Campbell Street
  • Santa Fe Street closed to thru traffic between 4th Avenue and Overland Avenue
  • Kansas Street closed to thru traffic between 3rd Avenue and Overland Avenue

The new schedule also lines up street car related closures along Paisano with closures related to Border Expressway construction. For more info on street car construction closures, click here. For Border Expressway info, click here and, for info on the Go 10 project, click here.
