The Pacific Coast League officially approved the sale of the San Diego Padres Triple-A baseball franchise to El Paso's MountainStar Sports -- which also officially approves the demolition of El Paso's City Hall to make room for a new baseball stadium. Check this link for the story.
Kipper Gray of Kipp's Cheesesteaks in the Cortez Building (203 E. Mills) wants the new downtown baseball stadium and outlined exactly why at the "Play Ball, El Paso" rally to support MountainStar Sports.
The conference room at the Nolan Richardson Rec Center was almost packed. Seeing two of El Paso's finest in uniform was a clue as to how this would go, as was the fact that there was a lot more gray hair in the audience than any other color

There are so many different things going on at Streetfest -- the concerts, the local bands, the fireworks, the cars, the dancing, the food -- it's tough to keep track of it all.
