The investigation continues into two separate explosions at a pair of churches in Las Cruces over the weekend. The Las Cruces Police Department has set up a tip line and is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone with information leading to an arrest. Police responded to the Calvary Baptist Church on the 1800 block of Locust Street Sunday morning after a mailbox was damaged by an explosive device. Several worshipers were inside the church at the time of the explosion, but services had not yet begun. Police were called to Holy Cross Catholic Church on the 1300 block of North Miranda Street just a few minutes later after an explosive device detonated in a trash bin near the church's front entrance.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is finding himself on the wrong side of the law. He was booked yesterday morning into the Collin County Jail on three felony fraud charges and then released on $35,000. A grand jury indicted him earlier for violating state securities laws. The Houston Chronicle reports the charges stem from an investment scheme involving a McKinney based tech firm targeted by the Securities and Exchange Commission last year for allegedly defrauding stockholders.

The mugshot for Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is receiving a lot of attention at the Collin County Jail. Paxton is pictured with a half smile and in his suit. The Collin County Sheriff's Office says all new bookings are draped with a towel around their neck. The use of the towel started when defense attorneys complained wrongful identification could occur when witnesses were looking at photo lineups based on clothing and not facial features. Authorities say they were served a court order that Paxton not wear the towel.
