A brand new nonprofit group in Las Cruces is trying to attract some of New Mexico's growing film industry. The Las Cruces Sun-News is reporting that a group called 'Film Las Cruces' has recently launched a website and is currently serching for a new film liason

The groups main goal is to build a film and entertainment arts workforce in the area to be able to attract future production. So that means hiring somebody to do the job. Under a proposed agreement, the city of Las Cruces will pay $95,000 per year for three years to allow Film Las Cruces to employ a full-time liaison. This person will be responsible for running the film office to work with production companies.

A couple of big television shows have been filmed in the Land of Enchantment like AMC's 'Better Call Saul', 'Breaking Bad' and Netfilx's 'Longmire.'
