Governor Greg Abbott made the announcement last night that you can get your food and your wine or beer to go as well. The COVID-19 pandemic is affecting businesses all over the United States, including here in Texas. Companies are beginning to lay off works and many people in the food industry are worried about how they're going to make ends meet during this crisis. Restaurants and bars are also concerned that they may not be able to bounce back after. Texas Governor Greg Abbott wants to help out businesses that are now forced to only serve takeout now. Governor Abbott issued a waiver allowing restaurants to deliver alcoholic beverages with food purchases to customers. This includes beer, wine, and/or mixed drinks. Alcohol can only be purchased along with food items. Greg Abbott said they are doing what they can to help restaurants:

“The State of Texas is committed to supporting retailers, restaurants, and their employees. These waivers will allow restaurants to provide enhanced delivery options to consumers during this temporary period of social distancing."

These new changes go into effect immediately and also allows manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers to repurchase or sell back unopened product.
