I've said it before and I'll say it again. Dogs are the coolest. Dogs have character and personality. My apologies to any cat lovers but dogs take the cake in my book. My two rascals Buck and Peep certainly make sure I never forget about them. In fact, they make it next to impossible. I'm willing to bet you may have a furbaby like that too.

Dogs do silly things. That's part of their charm. I stumbled onto an article from History All Day that breaks down your dog's behaviors and what they mean. This got me thinking. We've all seen dogs chase their tails or tilt their head while looking at you. I know mine do it all the time. Are they trying to tell me something? What does it all mean? I had to find out.

Can You Hear Me Now?

Most of us have seen dogs do this. I know mine do. They look at me like I'm the weirdo. Actually, there is a reason behind this. You may know dogs already have an amazing sense of smell but how about those ears? Yep, dogs have a great sense of hearing having around 16 muscles around their ears. The behavior of tilting only means they're trying to hear something better. You'll especially notice this when something they don't recognize is heard. Much like an antenna, they're only trying to tune in something more precise.

Catch Me If You Can

Nothing is cuter than a dog chasing its tail and that's half the reason behind it. Pups don't actually realize their tail is a part of their body until they get a bit older which may explain how it gets started. My dogs chase theirs because they know they're going to get affection or a treat. The veterinarian tells me it's their way of being "happy".

Is It Nap Time Yet?

Dogs are awesome when they yawn because, to me, it's almost human-like. People yawn, dogs aren't supposed to. But, they do, and here's why. Just like people, dogs can yawn to signal they're tired or have had enough. However, the same can happen when they get excited. That's what I notice my dogs doing if I even hint that we're going for a walk. Do your dogs yawn too?

Dogs - we love them, we treat them like family and if you're like me they even have presents to open up under the tree each year. Don't judge. Check out the picture of Buck, Peep, and myself this past Christmas.
