What Would A Spy Balloon Get A Great View Of From The El Paso Sky
One of the big new stories recently has been the coverage of the Chinese spy balloon that was recently shot down on US soil. Well we're not gonna look into the political side here. Instead, we're gonna talk about what a balloon would see if one EVER came to El Paso; what would it spot from the air?
And no we're not talking about the Moon...
First we have:
The Statue On Mt Cristo Rey:
The giant Mt Cristo Rey statue is certainly big enough that a balloon would take note of it, coming from the west. Might be one of the first things it spots in El Paso.
The Writing On the Mountain in Juarez:
It's certainly hard to miss the writing on the mountain when you're up in the air. Translated from Spanish to English, it means "The Bible is the truth. Read it". Certainly if a spy balloon was in the skies, it would see it.
The Rio Grande:
The river that runs across El Paso & Mexico, it's certainly easy to spot for a balloon. (If it's filled with a ton of water that is)
The Border:
Yeah the Border between El Paso & Juarez is certainly hard to miss; especially for a balloon. Including...
The Giant Red X:
Speaking of things that's hard to miss, the giant red X is a staple in our landscape. Representing the merging of the Spanish & indigenous people, a balloon would have no trouble seeing that baby from the air.
The Star On the Mountain:
It's THE symbol of El Paso: The Star on the Mountain. No way anyone, or anyTHING, from the air can miss that.
A Giant Movie Screen:
Don't forget about the giant movie screen located at the Blue Moon Drive-In Theater & the sign to boot.
A Giant Pickaxe:
A spy balloon might wonder what the heck the significance of a pickaxe us; not realizing it's the home for the UTEP Miners. So this one might actually stump that pesky balloon.
The Mexican Heritage & culture:
Most of these items are landmarks but we certainly can't forget about everything that shows El Paso is a border town. We have a huge Mexican influence so that's hard to miss.
Food:
We LOVE food in El Paso. In fact we might have so much food here that a spy balloon might just get hungry. Or try to find the nearest Chico's.
Some "AMAZING" driving:
There will be no shortage of some of the best driving for a spy balloon to find in El Paso. Especially from the air
and finally.
Dirt:
A LOT of it.
I mean...we ARE a desert town, so it would see a lot of dirt, rock and cacti. A spy balloon would certainly an eyeful of dirt & plants in El Paso
So yeah, you'll certainly get a great view of the desert landscape & some truly amazing landmarks. It also might get hungry due to the amount of different restaurants in town. I think we'll be fine if one ever came to El Paso.
