Top 5 Most Ridiculous Purchases Made By Professional Athletes
It's pretty fair to say that many professional athletes get paid way too much. But in all fairness, it is the public's fault for glorifying their job as we do. But what is life without football?! As long as they're standing for the National Anthem, I don't care how much they get paid. With that all said, here are some ri-donk-ulous purchases made by some of your favorite pro athletes.
Mike Tyson
His Pet TigerDo I really have to say much about this purchase? Was he just sitting around one day and said to himself, " I could really use a tiger these days."? I guess so, although I could imagine him saying it with more of a lisp.
And not only did he buy a tiger, he bought 2 Bengal tigers that cost him more than $140,000. I guess that's what happens when you get hit in the head too many times.
Darren McFadden
Purple and Green 1972 Buick CenturionDoesn't the subtitle say enough? Green and purple are good colors alone but together they are just a big hot mess, especially on a car. And not only that, but the car is lifted on 15 inch suspensions.
As a Cowboy fan, I'm kinda embarrassed of the running back, but it's no different from any given Sunday. But I digress.
Arian Foster
Segways he couldn't useThis is a doozy. So when you make as much money as some of these athletes, you have no problem spending some money on gifts. He decided it would be cool to buy the whole O-line a segway of their own. That's 5 segways just for the heck of it.
Turns out the segways do have a weight limit of about 260 pounds and the average football player weighs about 310 pounds, so he basically threw away $35k because his friends are too fat.
Floyd Mayweather
Ridiculously Expensive Ipod CaseFloyd Mayweather is one to be known to throw money away as it is, I mean he is Justin Bieber's bff so that alone says a lot. He once spent $50,000 on a custom Ipod case. It was covered in diamonds so the cost isn't surprising, I'm more surprised that someone still uses an Ipod.
Chad Johnson
Transformer Super TruckChad Johnson is a colorful character and it really showed when he purchased a vehicle that looked like a transformer super truck. The purchase cost the wide receiver a wide amount of cold hard cash. Setting him back at $100,000 and it wasn't even street legal.
You know what they say about guys with big trucks, right? They have even bigger gas tanks...and it used diesel gas. With gas prices high, it probably cost him well over "Ocho cinco" to fill up.
