Okay, so St. Patrick's Day has passed and maybe you're reading this blog through either squinted eyes or sunglasses. You have a hangover. Well, here are some things, courtesy of Fusion, to NOT do to try to cure your hangover.

  • DON'T take Tylenol. Tylenol has acetaminophen. Acetaminophen and alcohol are both processed by the liver. When you mix the two, your liver has to work double time. Toxic byproducts can accumulate, and those toxin can cause liver damage.
  • DON'T drink OJ. The acidity of the orange juice can upset your stomach and make you feel even worse.
  • DON'T have more than two cups of coffee. Coffee can not only make you more dehydrate, but it does narrow the blood vessels, causing higher blood pressure, and can make any headache you might have even worse.
  • DON'T drink more alcohol. I'm a little suspect on this one. Hair of the dog always works. That's what makes Bloody Marys so great. The truth is you do feel better when you drink alcohol when you're hung over. But that's because alcohol dulls your senses, and it's only temporary relief. You're going to have to deal with the hangover at some point.
