There Can Only Be One Christmas Donkey: Dominick the Donkey or El Burrito Sabanero
December has already started and, as shocking as it is, we have NOT done "Dominick the Donkey" on the Morning Show! I've seen the requests, I've heard your pleas, but Buzz still thinks it's a little too early!
"Dominick the Donkey" has become so popular around this time of year at my house all because of the Morning Show- and I know that when you all hear us sing it, it officially means that Christmas is here- so I don't know why Buzz is taking his sweet time in playing it! But if you're itching to get your donkey on- here's the song for you!
If I'm being completely honest, I had actually never heard of "Dominick the Donkey" until I got on the Morning Show; in my book there was only ONE Christmas donkey- and that was El Burrito Sabanero!
In English El Burrito Sabanero is "My Little Donkey from the Savannah". It's a song that's on every year for Christmas in my house. You may resist it, but you have to admit, it's a cute song! A kid is singing about his burrito on the road to Bethlehem- perhaps to see the baby Jesus, because, Christmas. If you're not familiar with the song, check it out below!
Also, if you're like me and didn't know- the song refers to an actual donkey not the food! If you're a non-Spanish speaker, check out this guys version of "El Burrito Sabanero" in English.
So while I love Dominick the Donkey, I have to admit that El Burrito Sabanero has a special place in my heart- mainly because it's the song I grew up with!
