Merry Christmas! We all know that song "Mi Burrito Sabanero" right? In English it's "My Little Donkey from the Savannah". It's a song that's on every year for Christmas in my house. You may resist it, but you have to admit, it's a cute song! A kid is singing about his burrito on the road to Bethlehem- perhaps to see the baby Jesus, because, Christmas. If you're not familiar with the song, check it out below!

Well, and I'm not too proud to admit this one, for the longest time I thought the kid was singing about a burrito- as in the FOOD. This WHOLE time I pictured the kid walking and singing to Bethlehem holding a burrito! Obviously, not a regular burrito- this is a special burrito- it's like a Rafa's burrito, big and wrapped in foil. Maybe not the foil part, but definitely the food part! It wasn't until recently, as in when I was 29 (29!) that my sister told me it was a donkey! It was as if for all those years I forgot that burritos the food also referred to donkeys!

Also, for the longest time I never knew what "sabanero" meant until I asked my dad, it refers to someone from the Savanna. You'd figure that one would have been the bigger shock, but no, it was the burrito part for me. Anyways, that's the story of how I found out that the "burrito sabanero" is a actually a "Donkey from the Savannah"

If you're a non-Spanish speaker, then check out this guy's version of "Mi Burrito Sabanero" in English!

Merry Christmas!
