Built and opened in May of 1922 by Preston E. Gardner, the current owners- the Nebhan family- have taken every step  towards preserving the Hotel's original 1920's aesthetic and structure. Walking in, you feel like you're instantly transported to a different time and can feel the life the hotel had before; the energy is strong enough that even some of the hotel's former guests make themselves known.

Lost El Paso Paranormal has been hosting ghost tours that meet at the Gardner since 2017. Their themed tours go perfect with the hotel's ambience; they've had their 1920's ghost tour and their Vampire's Night tour meet at the Gardner, which is just the perfect setting for such an evening. Lost El Paso Paranormal love the Gardner as a starting point for their tours to set the tone of the evening:

"We love them (the Gardner) because they are a true example of taking pride in, and promoting, our local history. Their hospitality is top notch, so our guests love it. And they are always so impressed when they step into the lobby and take in the vintage ambience. They have done a stellar job of preserving their hotel in all of it's antique glory, while keeping the most up to date amenities."

Though it is impossible to say for sure how many spirits and specters roam the halls of this hotel, Lost El Paso Paranormal are certain that the former guests certainly make their presence known:

"We've encountered numerous ghosts at the Gardner! Their history with John Dillinger is always very fascinating to our guests. And you gotta love a place that has a death mask on display right in the lobby"
