The District Pub & Kitchen opens its third location at Rudolph Plaza on N. Mesa Street with a new look, full menu, and resurfaced parking lot too.

Taking over the exact spot where Brass Monkey and the short-lived El Rey Muerto once stood, The District has moved in and renovated the sprawling space near Kern.

The District first opened in 2016, taking over the old Joe John & Mark dive bar at 601 N. Piedras across from Price's Creameries. Soon after the pub opened, it began to gain popularity thanks to its chill, laid-back vibe and menu, including its signature rolled tacos.

Then in December of 2019, a second location opened at 1160 Airway Blvd., but a couple of months later had to close due to the pandemic. After having to readjust and apply for a new license to be classified as a restaurant, The District began to thrive, allowing its second location to grow.

Seven years since opening their flagship location partners Abel Galaz and Nick Acosta would have never imagined that they would be opening their third location with plans on expanding further in the future.

So what makes The District Pub so alluring? According to Acosta, he says it's all thanks to its welcoming atmosphere, service, and menu.

Speaking of the menu: it's grown since The District first opened its doors. Today's menu includes huge burgers, nachos, wings, wraps, salads, apps, and its signature rolled tacos available in chicken, beef, or potato and green chile smothered in either red or green handmade sauce.

Everything is made fresh in-house in collaboration with their head cook John Cereceres who runs all three kitchens across town. Apart from a mouthwatering menu, the team also shared that they offer a hidden breakfast menu every day from open to 11 am, offering huevos rancheros and breakfast burritos and tacos.

But, don't let the pub's name fool you because both Abel and Nick are all about family and are proud that their menu offers a little something for everyone, especially families, up until 9 p.m.

Plus, their newest location makes it an ideal spot to hit up before attending a show or performance at the Don Haskins Center, which is within walking distance from The District.

Soccer fans will also be excited to know that The District has partnered up with El Paso Locomotive FC as the official watch party spot for all upcoming Locos games and hopes to do the same for UTEP and El Paso Chihuahuas games.

So what's next for The District Pub? Galaz and Acosta share that they do indeed plan to expand and have set their eyes on opening in Horizon or the Eastlake area within the next couple of years.

Until then, stop in their newest location to welcome the crew to the neighborhood, enjoy its happiest hour from open to close, and taste those famous rolled tacos while supporting local.
