According to breastcancer.org, a woman’s risk of breast cancer nearly doubles if she has a first-degree relative, such as a mother, sister, and daughter, who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. In contrast, less than 15% of women with breast cancer have a family member diagnosed with it.

Early detection is critical as breast cancer is sometimes only discovered after symptoms appear, but at times, many women never experience symptoms at all. Because of this, the American Cancer Society strongly recommends regular screenings since it is the most reliable way to spot the early signs of breast cancer.
