Lore: noun: a body of traditions and knowledge on a subject or held by a particular group, typically passed from person to person by word of mouth.

You may have heard all of us on the show mention a show on Amazon Prime called "Lore." We mentioned it one day when Buzz was reading about the shows on networks with the lowest ratings. Well, "Lore" was the show with the lowest ratings on Amazon. Which sounds like a bummer but when you think of all the original content that Prime has, one of them had to be the lowest rated one. They have such great original shows on Amazon, and Lore is great, so if that's the lowest of the low then Amazon is actually doing a great job!

Based on a podcast by Aaron Mahnke, Lore is a horror anthology show, telling a FACT-BASED story each episode. Every episode begins with "Everything you are about to see is based on actual people and events." It's only six episodes long and each episode is about 40 to 40 minutes long. Lore isn't just about the boogey man or the big bad wolf (episode 5 BTW) it's rich in history of superstition and the paranormal.

Each episode deals with a different supernatural phenomena. And while I found myself invested in each episode, I can see why some people wouldn't like it. The reenactments may seem cheesy at times, think the true crime shows you see on ID Channel where they reenact the wife who stabbed her husband. But, it all is based on true events, and that's scary in itself! I did enjoy the flow of the episodes, it wasn't all over the place and the acting was only enhanced by Mahnke's narrating, picture a doctor happily giving a child an ice pick lobotomy while Mahnke's calm voice explains it to you. Lore was recently renewed for season two, so I can't wait to see where this season takes us! If you're truly a horror fan who is intrigued by the origin of your favorite horror stories, this is one show you don't want to miss out on!
