Strange Lights in Texas Skies Fuel UFO Theories
Cue the X-Files theme because several Texas residents have reported strange lights hovering in the sky leading to speculation that the truth is out there!
Over the Thanksgiving holiday, residents in Dallas, Galveston, Abilene and Houston all reported seeing the same hovering lights that many believe are UFO's, well, "UAP's" aka "unidentified aerial phenomena". I'm not entirely sure when the name changed from UFO to UAP's, but I feel like you lost me at the name change!
While many want to believe that aliens are out there, many pointed out that it was probably just airplanes lining up to land at a nearby airport, the SpaceX satellite Starlink, or just drones.
But how many UAP's have actually been reported in Texas?
There's an entire track record of all UAP sightings in the entire country! The website, the National UFO Reporting Center, I guess they didn't get the name change either, has a complete list of UFO sightings from the last 49 years!
The National UFO Reporting Center has a data bank that allows you to search for reports by state, country, dates and even by UFO shape! If you search by state, you'll find out that in Texas, there have been a whopping 6,107 reports of UFO sightings!
Of course, these are accumulated from the last 49 years- but still, that's a lot! And the reports have descriptions that range from "lights as bright as Venus" to full detailed descriptions with time stamps. I was even surprised to see El Paso has several reports!
So, if you feel like you've seen a UFO- you can file a report here- and you have to read some of the sightings- it's crazy! Is the truth out there? Probably. Again, sorry for the X-Files pun.
