A teenage boy accidentally killed his twin brother when he shot him in the head while aiming for a snake.

A 14 year-old boy from Dayton, Texas accidentally shot his twin brother to death while aiming for a snake this week. On Monday the twin brothers, whose names haven't been released, spotted a snake in a water-filled ditch and ran to get their .22 caliber rifles to shoot the snake. Right when one of the boy's bent down to look at the snake, the other fired. The bullet hit the boy in the head and he was flown by Life Flight to a hospital in Houston. Liberty County Sheriff's Capt. Ken DeFoor said the bullet hit the boy a half-inch above his right ear. He sadly passed away Tuesday evening from his injuries.

The Liberty County Sheriff's Office say that they don't believe any charges will be filed against the teenager for the shooting.
