These Texas Players Are Ready to Make Super Bowl LIX Legendary
Well the stage is set for Super Bow LIXl: the Philadelphia Eagles vs the Kansas City Chiefs & regardless on the winning team, the state of Texas has good reason to celebrate. Both teams have many players who are from Texas or have played for Texas in college football who will be at Super Bowl LIX. Let's start with the NFC champions.
Here are some of the players from Texas on the Philadelphia Eagles
Amazingly there's at least 8 players on the Eagles that will be representing the state of Texas:
- Safety Lewis Cine played at Trinity Christian at Cedar Hill, Texas
- Defensive tackle Milton Williams is from Crowley, Texas & went to Crowley High.
- Offensive tackle Lane Johnson is from Groveton, Texas & went to Groveton High.
- Punter Braden Mann is a Houston, Texas native. He went to Cy-Fair High School in Cypress, Texas.
- Defensive tackle Moro Ojomo played for Katy High & was a Texas Longhorn between 2018-2022.
- Wide receiver Ainias Smith was born in Mission City, Texas. He played for Dules High in Sugar Land & played for Texas A&M in college.
- Safety Tristin McCollum was born in Galveston, Texas. He went to Ball High & Sam Houston in college.
Of course we can't forget their quarterback and Houston native, Jalen Hurts. This will be his 2nd Super Bowl appearance for the Channelview High alumni (his first since Super Bowl LVII in 2023).
Now onto the AFC...

Here are all the Texas players on the Kansas City Chiefs
While there's not as many players from Texas as there are on the Eagles, there ARE several players on the Chiefs from Texas:
- Linebacker Nick Bolton was born in Frisco, Texas who played at Lone Star High.
- Wide receiver Rashee Rice played at Richland High & at SMU in college.
- Running back Samaje Perine played at Hendrickson High in Richardson, Texas.
- Defensive end Charles Omenihu was born in Houston, Texas who played at Rowlett High and was a Texas Longhorn from 2015-2018.
Last but not least, we have the Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes. He is a proud native of Tyler, Texas. He went to Whitehouse High School & played for Texas Tech.
Regardless on whether the Eagles or Chiefs win, the state of Texas will indeed win this year. Good luck to both teams!
