Minecraft Fans Can Now Play the Game In Real Life in Texas
We've talked about how dedicated the Minecraft fanbase is in regards to Texas; some players have gone through great lengths to recreate iconic buildings, landmarks & just local favorites within the game to make Texas canon in the world's lore. Turns out the makers of Minecraft have decided to actually make Minecraft FOR REAL in the state of Texas.
In Plano, Texas there's a place to experience Minecraft IRL
Located at 2712 N Central Expy, Plano, TX 75074, the former Buy Buy Baby store is now a full grown place to experience the world of Minecraft. The place is called, fittingly, the Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue. After teasing about its release since May of 2024, the place finally opened its door to Texans & fans of Minecraft back in October 2024.
Some people have gone to the park itself & have posted videos of their experience AT the Minecraft Experience. When inside the building, there are digital displays on the wall with scenes from the games that people can interact with while mining for diamonds & exploring different places in the Minecraft world like the forest, underwater & underground. (Kinda wished the minecarts actually moved but oh well it's ok).
People can fight off digital zombies & creepers with their swords. Even the giant spiders in the game make an appearance...
There's even giant sized statues of animals from the game like cubed pigs and ducks. Even a giant statue of a Creeper is found inside (although I think they should've made it to look like it was going to explode like in the game).
Overall the attention to detail is impressive & the Google reviews are mostly positive too. It seems like people are happy with the amount of stuff to do inside, but some people wish there were more stuff to do. Many reviews from parents do go on to say that their kids did love the Minecraft experience so unless you're a parent, or a diehard Minecraft fan, it's good for a simple visit.
Their official website says there are more cities that will see the Minecraft Experience in the future. We'll see if more Texas cities will see even bigger buildings for an even more immersive experience.
