Texas is catching up with Colorado, Washington, Oregon, and many other states when it comes to marijuana. At least, it seems that way. Texas lawmakers have pre-filed several bills. One of which would allow voters to to decide on whether or not Texas should legalize/decriminalize marijuana

"I believe Texas is at a tipping point where we're seeing the rest of the country having a sensible marijuana policy,” said Shaun McAlister of Arlington, the leader of DFW NORML, the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws.

Of course, there are still those living in ancient times with their heads so far up... (you know where I'm going with this), that they refuse to move with the times.

Texas Department of Public Safety narcotics agent Corky Schalchlin of Frisco says the following:

"Are you going to have a doctor show up to surgery who has been smoking or a nurse? A fireman? If you legalize it, are you going to have police officers out there carrying a gun that have been smoking? It's scary. I think it's a slippery slope."

The bottom line is that argument says people don't have common sense. If this is your argument. We have to ban everything from alcohol to prescription drugs. It's not a slippery slope. That's just a bad, outdated argument from people who believe the propaganda that's been going on for years and years here in the United States.
