Texas Could See Coldest Temperatures of the Season Next Week
Texas doesn't need to be reminded of the Big Freeze we saw in 2021; it was definitely some of the coldest times in recent history & we don't want to see a repeat of that "awesome" time. Looks like Texas is expected to see even COLDER temperatures that we've seen in 2025.
Texas meteorologist Avery Tomasco says that temperatures will be below freezing February 18-20
The award winning meteorologist from Austin, Avery Tomasco, posted on his Facebook saying that Central Texas can expect to see possible temperatures in the teens (we're talking temperatures around 14-19 degrees Fahrenheit). If THAT'S not enough "great news", Avery also said those in the north/northwest part of Texas will see...NO temperature. Like 0 degrees.
While parts of FAR West & FAR South Texas might be ok, the rest of the state is most likely gonna be mighty cold in mid-February.
That's reassuring that Texas will most likely NOT see a repeat of 4 years ago. However that being said, it's definitely recommended you don't drive if there's a lot of snow & ice on the roads. Or at the very least, try to limit the amount of driving you have to do next week.
The other huge tip we want to say is STAY WARM. We've got some tips on how to keep warm without spending a ton of money here.
