I think almost everybody, men and women alike likes a nice bikini. Women love feeling sexy and edgy while still covering (most of) the goods and guys just like the view.

Teeny weeny bikinis have been around for a long time but have grown considerably smaller over the years. Some thong bikinis leave almost nothing to the imagination.

They've gotten so small that some places in Texas and throughout the world have started to regulate them.

2 piece bathing suits, ( a halter top and shorts), go back to the 1930's but the first true "bikini" didn't pop up until 1946.

Who Invented The Bikin?

Designed by 2 French designers, Jacques Heim and Louis Réard, the names their creations were inspired by nuclear bomb tests on an island known as the Bikini Atoll.

Heim called his the “atom” and advertised it as “the world’s smallest bathing suit.” Réard's swimsuit, which was basically a bra top and two inverted triangles of cloth connected by string, was in fact significantly smaller. Made out of a scant 30 inches of fabric, Réard promoted his creation as “smaller than the world’s smallest bathing suit.”  - history.com

Réard called his, "the bikini".  In this case, smaller was better and his name and design stuck, soon popping up on women all over Europe. America was the stick in the mud on this one and frowned upon teeny, weeny bikinis until the free spirited 60's arrived.

Until then, bathing suits were actually pretty heavily regulated.

Are Bikinis Regulated In Texas Now?

As far as beaches, lakes, rivers and such go, no. Texas swimming holes have no anti bikini policies but, as you move away from the water, that can change.

Many stores, restaurants and even, (gasp), some bars in Texas are making themselves "no bikini zones". (They pretty much just created a "no Dubba G zone" there too. Actually, a "probably no guys at all zone".)

Some in the interest of keeping things family friendly, others for hygienic reasons and others because they were raised by Puritans I guess.

Will Texas No Bikini Zones Catch On?

I really, reeeeeeeeally doubt it. I can see them not being allowed in certain family friendly environments and you probably won't see many in church on Sunday. Across the board though, I think bikini's will always find a warm, welcome home all over the lone star state.

Public pools and splash pads in El Paso and all over Texas may ban thongs but that's probably about it. Never fear my pervy friend; I'm sure bikinis and thongs alike will abound at private pools and public areas like Caballo Lake and Wet 'n Wild Waterworld this summer.

For year round "scenic views" in El Paso; you can always stop by Twin Peaks on bikini night or visit Cabo Joe's or any of the Timmy'z locations anytime. Just sayin' ...

Are these bikinis too sexy for Boise?

Plenty of Babes and Bikinis At the 2020 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally

KLAQ had a man on the ground at Sturgis who sent us daily photo updates and it looks like the pandemic hasn't stopped many the people from partying.

Check out the photos below and imagine you're right there in the middle of all the action.

Well, maybe not the spitting contest, unless you're into that sort of thing.
