Texans Without a License Can Go Fishing in Texas This Saturday
If you're in the mood to fish but don't have a license, that's not a problem. This isn't going to be a long time thing either. This is just for a short period of time though. As of this Saturday Texans can go fishing without a license. If you're looking for something to do in a wide-open space then fishing should be it. Fishing takes a lot of patience but also is a peaceful activity for the family. So if you don't have a fishing license shouldn't stop you from catching dinner. This Saturday, June 6 is free fishing day and Texans without a fishing license are rejoicing.
Not a lot of people know this and need to hear but the fishing license fees go towards Texas Wildparks and Wildlife Department. Your license fee all depends on where you fish and the length of time. KSAT 12 reported the licensing fees to range between the prices of $11 to $47. If you already had plans to fish just know this Saturday you can cast your lines from anywhere on the house. Takemefishing.org would like to see your fishing skills and ask you to hashtag your pictures #FirstCatch and #GetYourFishOn. They plan on sharing your fishing adventure on all their social media sites.
So if you and your family have been wanting to do an outdoor activity free of charge, go fishing. You can use this freebie as a "try before you buy" and test out the waters, literally. Fishing this Saturday in Texas will be the only time you can fish for free without a license.
