Like it or not, tariffs are going to cause prices to rise - here are a few things peeps in Texas should stock up on now to avoid paying more later.

Tariffs are taxes on imported goods and some of the new ones coming soon could be as much as 50%. If the taxes on an import go up then, almost always, the price of that item goes up accordingly.

If you don't want to pay that extra bit, here are a few things you should probably stock up on now.

Electronics, groceries, clothing, you name it; if it's imported, it will soon cost you more. Two things that I'm planning to load up on are beer and steak. It's not the beer that's being taxed, it's the can.

As for steak, yes Texas has loads of cattle but demand is so high that a lot of it is imported. Texas imports a lot more than beef, we're #3 as far as which states import the most stuff. (It's mostly computers and electronics for us.)

Different items from different countries will have different tariffs placed upon them and some countries are marked safe from tariffs altogether. (Watch their prices go up anyway.) Here are a few things you might want to stock up on now.

Today says you should grab Firestick HD's and Apple Air Pod 4's among other things while CNN says to go after seafood, coffee, fruit, cheese, nuts, candy bars. (See more here.)

If you have a Costco membership, eatingwell.com says, head for the wine rack.
