Steel Panther have now weighed in on the Kanye West controversy at the Grammys, with a new song skewering the rapper for his antics.

Steel Panther guitarist Satchel is one of the most talented shredders in heavy metal, but his days may be numbered. On Dec. 19, 11-year-old Aidan Fisher challenged Satchel to a shred-off in Kansas City during Steel Panther's performance at the Midland Theater. Fisher wowed the audience with his abilities and probably even stole most of Satchel's groupies after the show.

Steel Panther is mostly known for their profane and humorous lyrics as well as their exaggerated on-stage personas that reimagine and parody the glam metal music and lifestyle of the 1980s. Sunset Strip dwellers Steel Panther have scored a plum hometown gig. The delightfully throwback-ish band will open for Guns N’ Roses at the Forum in Los Angeles tomorrow, Dec. 21. The tongue-in-cheek glam revivalists just wrapped a U.K. trek with Motley Crue and Def Leppard and will cap off a stellar 2011 with this GN’R gig.

My first impression of  Steel Panther was WTF?   They were appearing at SXSW in Austin, and came by our "studio" to be interviewed.  I had never heard of them before and I almost felt sorry for them, thinking they were stuck in the 80's...

"If You Really, Really Love Me" is the first U.K. single from STEEL PANTHER's sophomore album, "Balls Out", which sold nearly 12,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 40 on The Billboard 200 chart.

In a May 2011 interview with Guitar International, Satchel stated about the recording process for "Balls Out", "We've been recording since last August and we've been tracking five songs at a time so we focus intently on a few songs rather than all 15 at once. We're just finishing up the last five now and they all sound amazing. I would say that out of the 15 songs we've recorded, th
