Quarterback Calvin Brownholtz is entering the season's final week with a chance to lead the Miners into San Antonio and steal the final victory necessary to become bowl eligible for consecutive seasons.

If there was one positive from last night's loss to the Rice Owls that has UTEP football fans talking, it was the play of backup quarterback Calvin Brownholtz.

In a must-win matchup to try and keep bowl hopes alive, the UTEP football team fell to Rice Thursday evening, 37-30, in a disappointing finish.

UTEP redshirt freshman T.J. Goodwin opted out of the 2020 season, leaving redshirt sophomore Gavin Hardison as the Miners starting quarterback.
