Texas Cats Are Crazy Watch This One Fight and Outsmart Coyote
Y'all I can't even watch this video of a cat and coyote fight in Surfside Texas without cringing at times, but there is a happy ending to it and you better believe this crazed Texas cat won the tussle! You've got to see this video!
Talk about grabbing a cat by the tail! Bad coyote! Go kitty go! Well, this picture is more like grabbing the cat by the leg.
Okay, this pic is more like grabbing the cat by the tail! Well, cat butt. But still. Poor kitty!
According to Niteguard, cats are not capable of outrunning a coyote, so they've got to fight or find a way out of the situation. Fight or flight. Thankfully for the cat's owners, who watched it all from their security cameras, this little kitty did both.
OMG, I hate this statistic, especially living on a ranch in South Texas but, Niteguard also says that a National Park Service has shown that cats make up 20% of urban coyotes’ diets.
But not this crazy kitty, not today!
Shout out to ABC13 for their Youtube video that captures all the craziness. Get ready to cringe.
This happened in Surfside but it can happen anywhere, I mean 20 percent of a coyote's diet depends on it. Insert sick emoji here.
Here are a few things, compliments of Niteguard that you can do to protect your little kitty from the big bad wolf...we mean coyote.
1. Secure outside food sources. Don't leave cat food outside overnight. It's a welcoming buffet to tons of other critters.
2. Haze coyotes if you see them. If you see a coyote on your property, get aggressive. Let them know they are not welcome deterring them from additional visits.
3. Cat posts are easy to make. As you see in the video, the cat climbing the post at the end of the video is what saved it from being the coyote's midnight snack. Cats can climb, coyotes on the other hand can not.
Hopefully, this cat never encounters a coyote again, but if it does, it will have this one win under its belt. Kitty -1, Coyote -0.
