Support Local Service Workers During The Pandemic With EP Bar Wears

EP Bar Wears is a group of El Pasoans trying to raise money to help those in the service industry currently out of work due to the COVID-19 pandemic. When the coronavirus pandemic hit the Borderland, many working in the service industry suddenly found themselves without a job. While many people have the luxury of working from home, or being deemed "essential" and continuing to work, those in local bars and restaurants found their tips gone, hours cut, and some laid off with no idea when they will be able to go back to work safely.

EP Bar Wears founder Andy Martinez told The Prospector Daily he was inspired by a similar movement in Salt Lake City by Coel Studio. Martinez reached out to the studio for guidance on how to start a similar movement here in El Paso. EP Bar Wears has teamed up with local businesses including bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and other local movements to create merchandise products to benefit service industry workers. 100% of the profits generated will be donated to the Paso Del Norte's Community Foundation's El Paso Food and Beverage Workers Fund. According to the EP Bar Wears website, the money raised will support "food and beverage workers in El Paso, Sunland Park, and Santa Teresa, New Mexico who have been laid off or working significantly reduced hours due to a temporary closure as a result of the pandemic."
