Well, it was nice while it lasted. C&G Entertainment, who host Sun City Car Pool Cinema have announced that this weekend's movie screenings are postponed. Obviously, if you were planning on seeing Friday's screening of "Frozen," you were already aware of the postponement. If you were planning on heading out for the rest of the weekend to see "Leatherface," "The Fast & the Furious," or "Grease, this is your warning.

The move to postpone comes after Governor Abbott announced on Friday morning a new executive order to help contain the spread of COVID-19 by pausing Texas' phased reopening's. In the order, bars were required to close effective at noon on Friday the 26th. The order also stated restaurants had to scale back to 50% capacity, restaurants were currently allowed to operate at 75% capacity. If you're wondering why Sun City Car Pool Cinema had to postpone, the order also says: Outdoor gatherings of 100 or more people must be approved by local governments, with certain exceptions.

C&G Entertainment took to Facebook to announce to their patrons the sudden postponement by stating:

"Due to executive orders put into place. We will be rescheduling showings for another date. All purchased tickets will be honored at the rescheduled date (to be announced). We are monitoring the mandates and safety guidelines to ensure the safety of all our guests. Please follow our page for updates. We thank you for understanding and for your continued support at the Sun City Car Pool Cinema.
See you soon!"

Note that it does say "postponement" not "cancellation." Because the executive order does say gatherings must be approved by local government, and because Sun City Car Pool Cinema usually just takes place in your own car, there is no reason to believe that the movie screenings could come back soon!
