The Star City Tattoo Expo was postponed earlier this year and it looks like we'll have to wait an additional year before the convention. The Star City Tattoo and Arts Expo was scheduled to take place March 20th through the 22nd at the El Paso Convention Center last year.

Unfortunately for event organizers, the coronavirus pandemic was just starting to gain momentum across the country and many states were beginning to enact lockdowns to try and keep their covid case numbers under control. The City of El Paso entered a similar lockdown, and the event was postponed a week before it was supposed to take place.

Since then, the City of El Paso has dealt with the covid case numbers and death toll skyrocketing and hospitals were overwhelmed. The El Paso Convention Center transitioned to a temporary hospital to house the overflow of covid patients in the area at the end of October and continues to be used as a response center.

Normally, the convention center is used for concerts, events, and conventions like the Star City Tattoo Expo but it doesn't look like we will see the expo happening in 2021. According to a statement on the Star City Tattoo Expo Instagram page, the event has been postponed until 2022:

"With the current situation happening we will not be able to host this year's event.....With some states being allowed to operate and others still having strict rules, it will make it difficult for some artists to travel. We will continue to work on making this event happen in the future."

Organizers said that all booth deposits and payments made will be moved to the 2022 event instead. Anyone with any further questions can email the event's organizers at starcitytattooexpo@gmail.com. You can see the full statement below.
