A few weeks ago, many El Pasoan's were devastated to hear that a beloved restaurant was closing its doors forever.

Sorrento Italian Restaurant in the Northeast closed it's doors on August 2nd. That final weekend, I was in the area and got a glimpse of patrons trying to get their final fix of pizza, meatballs or pasta.

As someone who has been a lifelong resident of the Northeast, it truly was sad to see this gem close for good. With this pandemic, we've been seeing many local businesses close their doors, but the news of Sorrento closing was truly shocking to many.

If you're like me and feeling a bit emotional about the closing of this iconic Northeast restaurant, then now you have a chance to have a little bit of Sorrento in your home. Sorrento Italian Restaurant will be selling their very famous Chianti ceiling bottles.

Starting Friday, August 28 from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. and continuing on Saturday, August 29 from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M., for a donation, you can take one one (or maybe more!) of their Chianti ceiling bottles. The great part about this is that all the proceeds will go to St. Jude. It is first come first served so there is a good chance that they may run out, judging by how many people have responded to their Facebook announcement.

Aside from the great food and service, I have to admit, that Chianti bottle ceiling is probably one of the coolest things at that restaurant. I'll miss you Sorrento!
