Scheduled Road Construction And Closures For El Paso This Week

While the city is ecstatic the Border West Expressway is finally open, there is still quite a lot of construction happening on El Paso Roads. We've finally seen some of the major road projects coming to a close, and the improvements are making the commutes home better and better! Still, there are some projects that are just getting started or are getting the finishing touches. To make sure you're not stuck sitting in traffic due to construction on your commute, you've come to the right place. West Area Closures

Transmountain Project (UFN)

Transmountain one lane in both directions from US-54 to Tom Mays State Park

Mesa Rehabilitation Project (UFN)

Mesa northbound 1 lane from Baltimore to Castellano
Mesa southbound 1 lane from Festival to Montecillo

US-54 Overlay Project

Monday, Jan. 11 - Saturday, Jan. 16 (7 am - 5 pm)

US-54 north and southbound between New Mexico State Line and McCombs alternate lane closures.

Bridge Maintenance Project

Sunday, Jan. 10 - Monday, Jan. 11 (9 pm - 5 am NIGHTLY)

US-54 northbound at Ellerthorpe complete closure.
All traffic directed to Ellerthorpe exit.
Spur 601 to US-54 northbound direct connector ramp closed.
US-54 southbound entrance ramp at Fred Wilson closed.

Monday, Jan. 11 - Tuesday, Jan. 12 (9 pm - 5 am NIGHTLY)

US-54 southbound at Ellerthorpe complete closure.
All traffic directed to Ellerthorpe exit.
Entrance ramp before Ellerthorpe closed.

Tuesday, Jan. 12 - Friday, Jan. 15 (9 pm - 5 am NIGHTLY)

I-10 westbound between Copia and Piedras complete closure.
Merge US-54 west to one lane directing traffic to Piedras

Monday, Jan. 11 - Friday, Jan. 15 (7 am - 5 pm DAILY)

I-10 west and eastbound turnarounds at Trowbridge closed.
I-10 south and northbound at Trowbridge alternate lane closures.

Guardrail Repair Project

Monday, Jan. 11 (9 am - 4 pm)

I-10 westbound at Copia exit ramp complete closure.

Tuesday, Jan. 12 (9 am - 4 pm)

I-10 westbound between Hawkins and Airway right lane closed.

Wednesday, Jan. 13 (9 am - 4 pm)

I-10 eastbound at Geronimo on-ramp complete closure.

Thursday, Jan. 14 (9 am - 4 pm)

I-10 westbound between Resler and Mesa right lane closed.

Monday, Jan. 11 - Friday, Jan. 15 (8 am - 3 pm)

Loop 375 (Border Hwy) westbound between Cole and Park right lane closed.
Crews will be pruning trees and cleaning.
I-10 east and westbound between Sunland Park and Mesa alternate lane closures.

East Area Closures

Loop 375 Frontage Road Project

Monday, Jan. 11 - Friday, Jan. 15 (7 am - 4 pm DAILY)

South Americas Avenue (frontage road) southbound to northbound turnaround will be blocked occasionally near Union Pacific Railroad
South Americas Avenue southbound to northbound traffic will remain open and be flagged through work zone

Deceleration Lane and Driveway Entrance

Monday, Jan. 11 - Friday, Jan. 15 (9 am - 4 pm DAILY)

Gateway Boulevard West (frontage road) right lane closure between Eastlake Boulevard and Bill Burnett Drive
