April is almost over but the construction all over El Paso is in full swing to get us to the finish line! Find out what major closures will be affecting your commute this week. Doesn’t matter when you’re traveling through the west side of El Paso, it looks like congestion is going to be an issue. Even the east side isn’t immune to traffic and headaches. With road closures, lane closures and more, El Paso traffic is getting worse before it gets any better. There will be some major freeway and road closures happening this week so make sure you are aware so you don’t get caught stuck in traffic.

Sunland Park

Sunday, May 12 (9 pm to 6 am)

  • I-10 West lanes CLOSED from Sunland Park exit ramp to Sunland Park entrance ramp. Use the CD lanes as a detour.
  • Sunland Park entrance ramp to I-10 West CLOSED

Monday, May 13 (9 am to 4 pm)

  • Right 2 lanes Sunland Park Drive CLOSED starting at the traffic light to mall

I-10 at North Mesa, Sunland Park Drive

I-10 Both Directions

Tuesday, May 14, and Wednesday, May 15
9 p.m. each night to 6 a.m. each following morning

  • The mainlanes of I-10 East will close completely at the North Mesa exit ramp (Exit 11). Detour: Motorists on I-10 East will exit at North Mesa (Exit 11), then follow the eastbound CD lanes to re-enter I-10 East.
  • The mainlanes of I-10 West will close completely at the Sunland Park exit ramp (Exit 13). Detour: Motorists on I-10 West will exit at Sunland Park (Exit 13), then follow the westbound CD lanes to re-enter I-10 West prior to reaching North Mesa Street (SH 20).
  • The North Mesa entrance ramp to the mainlanes of I-10 East will close.
  • The turnaround bridges at the Sunland Park Drive overpass will close.
  • Crews will be re-striping a portion of I-10 East and moving barrier walls.

Tuesday, May 14, and Wednesday, May 15
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day

  • The two right lanes on Sunland Park Drive in both directions will close at the I-10 overpass.
