People are flocking to Texas these days and, for some, the adjustment can be a little bit little rough. Here are a few things you HAVE to do if you want to blend in seamlessly.

Texans are proud of the lone star state and are picky about who can claim to be a true Texan. They don't award transplants the "Texan" title, instead referring to them as "naturalized"

Texans are super proud of the states former status as a republic so you darn sure better remember the Alamo. Football is practically a religion here too, From pee - wee leagues all the way to the NFL, life plans are made around games.

Get on board with the Dallas Cowboys or the Houston Texans and love them completely, passionately and without fail. No matter how sh***y their season may be going. Here are some other things a true Texan knows.

Those are just a few suggestions, there are lots of other things to help you not seem like a tourist. Don't make chili with beans and, no matter what type of soda you want, refer to it as a "coke". Brush up on your manners too, please, thank you, sir, ma'am, are way important around here and don't just slap on a cowboy to "Texanize" yourself unless you know the rules for wearing one.
