Texas Says This Is the Greatest Rom-Com of All Time
When it comes to Valentine's day, a movie night with your loved one is a perfectly valid date. Now, Texans have chosen their favorite rom-com and they've chosen a classic love story.
Texas Loves This Rom-Com More Than Any Other Movie
According to a new nationwide poll from film and culture site PixlParade, When Harry Met Sally… is officially Texas’s favorite romantic comedy of all time. I can’t complain! The deli order scene. The sweaters. The “I’ll have what she’s having” energy. All of it. Classic!
PixlParade surveyed about 2,000 Americans across all 50 states, asking them to choose their favorite rom-com from a carefully curated list of 30 films released over the past 50 years. The list was built using top IMDb ratings, Rotten Tomatoes reviews, and the highest-grossing romantic comedies ever; so this wasn’t just about preference and vibes, this was cinema science.

Texas Loves a Slow-Burn Romance
When you take a look nationwide, When Harry Met Sally… took the top spot with 21.78% of the vote, narrowly edging out Pretty Woman at 19%. Texans clearly leaned toward the more grounded, slow-burn love story, an almost “enemies to lovers” plot; the kind where two people circle each other for years, argue about relationships, and eventually realize they’ve been in love the whole time. Swoon!
The Rest of America’s Favorite Rom-Coms
Here’s how the rest of the country rounded out its Valentine’s Day watch list:
- The Princess Bride — 8.69%
- Notting Hill — 5.00%
- Say Anything — 4.85%
- Moonstruck — 3.79%
- There’s Something About Mary — 3.49%
- As Good as It Gets — 3.18%
PixlParade points out that the staying power of When Harry Met Sally… comes down to authenticity. The characters feel real, flawed, and familiar- not perfect fairy-tale people, but the kind of humans you actually know (or are).
I would argue that 10 Things I Hate About You deserves to be on that list, but that's an argument for another day.

It's obvious that When Harry Met Sally... is a classic for a reason. Rob Reiner's actual love story inspired the ending, and it's a film that is being re-watched by so many in the wake of his and his wife's death.
