On this morning's show we mentioned the pig/monkey hybrids that were born in China. We played a round of "are these hybrid animals real or fake?" and it reminded me of this article I wrote back in 2012 of Oliver, the "Humanzee."

I have often spoken of my fascination with Oliver, the captive chimpanzee that had so many seemingly human characteristics that many people have speculated that he had to be some kind of ape/human hybrid ... a Humanzee.

Oliver died this week at the Primarily Primates Sanctuary in Texas at the estimated age of 55.

Take a look at this video and tell me that's not a weird looking chimp.

They did a DNA test a few years ago on Oliver and the results showed that he was 100 percent chimpanzee. But look at the way he walks, man! He walks more like a little midget bow-legged old prospector than a chimpanzee. I still have my suspicions.
