If you're in El Paso and a fan of porn ... photos, writings, movies, whatever ... don't worry, you're probably ok in the eyes of the law.

This ain't your Daddies porn. These days, almost all the stigma(s) once attached to porn are gone. Except for a few religious zealots, not many people bat an eye at it anymore.

You should be careful what you do with your porn though. You can still get in trouble before, during and after purchasing it ... if you don't follow a couple of simple rules.

Once considered a basic menace to society, norms and the youth of the nation ... don't even get me started on the "moral majority" ... porn is now a widely accepted art form.

Emphasis on, ahem, "form".  As far as buying or possessing it in Texas, aficionados are within their rights to do so. Some new laws regarding internet porn were recently passed in Texas.

Absolutely nothing involving minors is ok ... even an accidental viewing can get you in big trouble. "Research purposes" aren't a defense here either. As far as adults go, be sure you have your "models" full permission to post/publish anything featuring them.

There aren't many laws in Texas regarding possession of porn but there are a couple and having to register as a lifetime sex offender is among the penalties for breaking them.

Basically, to have porn, even the hardcore stuff, in Texas you must:

You can't walk around randomly showing it to other people you come across in public either. Not that you would but, just so you know, that is not kosher.
