No Change For 2023 UTEP Football Season Ticket Prices
UTEP announced today that season tickets are now on sale for the 2023 football campaign. They also kept all tickets priced the same as last year. Here is the breakdown:
Party Patio: $100/Seat ($75 Ticket + $25 MAC [Miner Athletic Club] Contribution)
Bronze: $135/Seat ($75 Ticket + $60 MAC Contribution)
Silver: $250/Seat ($75 Ticket + $175 MAC Contribution)
Gold: $375/Seat ($75 Ticket + $300 MAC Contribution)
As for Premium Seating, I did not have a price list from either of the past two years. Instead, UTEP asked for people to call (915) 747-UTEP or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
In September, the Sun Bowl Stadium will celebrate its 60th anniversary. The first game was played on September 21st, 1963 and the Miners defeated the North Texas State Eagles by a score of 34-7. Larry Durham, who has donated millions of dollars to the football program over the years, scored the first touchdown in the Sun Bowl during Texas Western's 27-point win.
As for the 2023 home schedule, the Miners will play four games on Saturday, one on Friday, and a Wednesday night contest as part of Conference USA's new media rights deal.
2023 UTEP FOOTBALL HOME SCHEDULE
Sat., Sept. 2 INCARNATE WORD
Sat., Sept. 23 UNLV
Fri., Sept. 29 LA TECH*
Wed., Oct. 18 NM STATE*
Sat., Nov. 4 WKU*
Sat., Nov. 25 LIBERTY*
New Mexico State and Liberty will be making their first trips to the Sun Bowl as members of C-USA. The league chose the Battle of I-10 to be showcased on a Wednesday night, which most likely will give the rivalry a nationally televised audience.
Last season, UTEP averaged just under 20,000 fans per game, a 13.8% increase over 2021. The Miners will play Jacksonville State, Northwestern, and Arizona on the road during the first four weeks of the regular season. If the team can start strong and win early, their attendance will grow during the season.
From a cost standpoint, a $65 end zone season ticket averages out to $10.83 per game. Based on last season, that same ticket could increase to $15 later this summer when individual tickets go on sale. Unless you don't mind paying more later in the year, the best deal is still season tickets.
