Mom 'n Pop microbreweries are causing New Mexico legislators to look at lightening up some on liquor license requirements.

A microbrewery in Truth Or Consequences has revitalized the cities downtown area and some New Mexico lawmakers want to see that happen elsewhere in the state.  The Truth Or Consequences Brewing Company offers their own brews and has become a venue for live, local music. So, nearby businesses started staying open later to take advantage of the customers drawn to the brewery.  In short, Downtown T or C is jumping!!

Obtaining a New Mexico liquor license is an expensive and complicated process but, in the hopes of revitalizing other small towns and downtown areas, some politicians want to make it easier and cheaper. This will help restaurants and bars that are not part of big chains to afford "limited liquor" licenses.

El Paso microbreweries are also drawing large crowds. Hopefully, Texas will follow NM's lead and we'll see even more "little guys" starting up here!  For more info, click here.
