Milwaukee Brewer’s Shot-for-Shot Tribute to The Sandlot
I don't have a major league team that I'm a die hard fan of. I was excited when Boston won the series after the Bambino Curse and I really got behind the Cubs the past few seasons. But, I don't think of myself as a bandwagon fan. I'm more of an allegiance-fluid kind of fan.
This year I think I'll root for the Milwaukee Brewers. The reason: their player's loving and very detailed tribute to The Sandlot, a movie which turns 25 this year. Yeah. Let that sink in for a minute. 25 years?? You're killin' me, Smalls!
Some highlights to look for: Catcher Stephen Vogt is perfect as Ham (even though he's batting lefty and Ham Porter was, as everyone knows, a righty). Also, infielder Eric Sogard, who actually plays with corrective eye wear, as Squints is a stand-out. Also, the newly acquired Christian Yelich ACTUALLY looks like a grown version of Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez!
Grab some Graham crackers, mallows and enjoy this awesome tribute from MY MILWAUKEE BREWERS!
And, yeah, the Yankees technically did it first. But their 2015 re-enactment didn't go into the same exacting detail as the Brewers, as you can see here...
