If you weren't able to get tickets Metallica's upcoming sold out 'S&M2' anniversary concerts in San Francisco or simply want to relive the night, you'll have the chance as the group has announced that the commemorative show will be featured at 3,000 movie theaters around the world Oct. 9.
The film will commemorate the 20th anniversary of Metallica's groundbreaking S&M live album in addition to the grand opening of the Chase Center along the Bay Area waterfront.
Metallica will play alongside the San Francisco Symphony and conductor Michael Tilson Thomas for a reprisal of the groundbreaking 1999 live album. This won't simply be a regurgitation of what they've done before as the band plans on performing select tracks from the original release as well as symphonic adaptions of songs that have been released since.
The list of participating theaters are still being confirmed and tickets are expected to go on sale on Aug. 7, though the date is subject to change. Fans looking to be notified with the further information can sign up for alerts at the dedicated Metallica film website.
When the first 'S&M2' show was announced, the concert sold out in just minutes, leaving fans to suspect online bots had scooped up the tickets before fans were able to. In light of this, a second show was later announced.
Metallica have a stretch of European tour dates leading up to the two-night Bay Area 'S&M2' shows, followed by a run in Australia and New Zealand. If you haven't seen them yet, get tickets here.
