El Pasoans recently learned that Sunland Park Mall was bought by the owner of Starr Western Wear and will soon be revamped that includes a name change. The mall will soon be known as The Shops at Solana.

That's a pretty cool name right? I mean, I'm sure many people will still call it "Sunland Park Mall"- it'll take awhile to get used to the name change!

While we don't know many details about the revamp yet, we already know what stores El Pasoans are hoping will come to the new Shops at Solana- which you can check out here.

While discussing this revamp on the Morning Show, many people reached out to us through our App Chat to tell us their thoughts on the name change and to give us their suggestions for stores; but what we received more of? The names of malls that El Pasoans actually miss and wish would make a comeback!

El Paso Discount Mall

One of the many messages we got on the App Chat were people who missed the El Paso Discount Mall!

The El Paso Discount Mall was in the heart of Northeast El Paso. I'm not entirely sure how long it was up and running, and I'm not event sure I remember when it closed down and was eventually demolished to make way for a Walmart that stands there today.

But this mall was awesome! Inside were various local vendors where you could find some of that awesome retro fashion we all look back on with fond memories; kind of how Fox Plaza is today. I know this because my parents used to have a store inside!

Northgate Mall

Another mall that listeners said they wished would come back was Northgate Mall, another Northeast treasure!

This was a cool mall, and it's not the first time that many have mentioned Northpark, or Northgate Mall! 

Lee Trevino Mall

Now this is one that I don't remember at all; but lots of people mentione the Lee Trevino Mall that used to be located on the corner of I10 and Lee Trevino! If anyone has any pictures on this send them to us through the App Chat!
