Local Brewery Blazing Tree Wins Medal For Their Craft Beer
Local brewery Blazing Tree Brewery is known for their craft beers around El Paso and the Borderland but now the brewery is getting major recognition outside of the region. Blazy Tree Brewery participated in the U.S. Open Beer Championship. The U.S. Open Beer Championship is the second largest competition in the United States and one of the top competitions in the country, with over 8,000 beers submitted representing 140 different styles from all over the world. Over 8500 breweries entered this year's competition and Blazing Tree came out in the top 3 for one of their brews.
At this competition, Blazing Tree submitted their Big Papa for the Strong/Imperial Brown Ale category. According to Blazing Tree, this ale is a 10% ABV ale that has woody, bold and creamy notes in the taste. Out of all the ales submitted, Blazy Tree was awarded the Bronze medal for their submission, beaten by only Mathews Brewing in Florida and The Blue Heron Brewery in Ohio who took top prizes.
Blazing Tree has been brewing its own beers since 2017 and has a year-round menu of selections, as well as seasonal choices people can enjoy.
