Even if there was such a thing as a Jedi Knight, you wouldn’t officially be one, no matter how good you are with your lightsaber. And no, that’s not a euphemism.

The Golden Gate Knights, a San Francisco Bay area group, offers lightsaber training classes every Sunday between noon and three. An actual movie fight choreographer teaches students the stagecraft behind the classic battles that Darth, Luke and Obi-Wan fought on film, as well as specific “flourishes” or moves, such as forward and reverse spins, inverted grips and figure eights.

The first class is free, but follow-up classes cost $15 a session and another $5 to rent a LED powered blade. However, if you are at the point in life where you’re regularly attending lightsaber classes, you should probably already have one.

Participants must be 17 and over to attend, due to liability issues, so this is anything but child’s play. Well, maybe it’s still child’s play, but at least the age restriction will spare you the shame of losing a Jedi-showdown to an actual child.
