‘Lights on the Lake’ Will Return to Ascarate Park in El Paso with Dazzling Holiday Displays
Good news, lovers of colorful Christmas lights. The holiday decorations and colorful lights at Ascarate Park will glow again soon.
Lights on the Lake at Ascarate Park is set to begin lighting up the county park all along Ascarate Lake beginning Saturday, December 4, 2021.
Details are still being worked out, but what I've learned so far is that El Paso County Parks & Recreation’s annual event will kick off with the "Second Annual A Night of Hope" at 6 p.m. on Dec. 4.
As it did last year, “A Night of Hope” will honor all healthcare workers and first responders for their continued sacrifice and dedication to the El Paso community during the on-going pandemic.
Unlike the 2020 "A Night of Hope," which was a drive-thru event as we were going through a real bad stretch of coronavirus infections and hospitalizations, the 2021 festivities will be in-person and include a lighting ceremony, live entertainment, food trucks, and Santa Claus.
After "A Night of Hope" on Dec. 4, "Lights on the Lake" at Ascarate will go through at least the first weekend of January. The lights and displays will shine nightly from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
