This Eddie Guerrero TV Special Is Worth Watching

There are certain names that will always mean something special in El Paso, and Eddie Guerrero is one of them.

Long after his wrestling career ended, "Latino Heat" is still everywhere around the Borderland. We have Eddie Guerrero Day, murals honoring him and generations of fans who still proudly wear his shirts and quote, "I Lie! I Cheat! I Steal!"

So when I came across an episode of Autopsy: The Final Hours Of... dedicated to Eddie, I wasn't sure what to expect.

After watching it, I came away with one thought: if you're an Eddie Guerrero fan, this episode is worth your time.

This Episode Remembers More than Eddie Guerrero's Final Hours

The title of the series might make you think the episode focuses only on Eddie's passing, but that's really not the case.

In fact, one of the most powerful parts of the episode is seeing how Eddie rebuilt his life after getting sober and worked his way back to the top of professional wrestling, eventually capturing the WWE Championship.

For longtime fans, it's a reminder of just how remarkable his comeback really was.

One of my favorite parts of the episode had nothing to do with wrestling.

Throughout the show, you'll spot familiar shots of El Paso that serve as a reminder of where Eddie's story began.

No matter how big of a star he became, Eddie never stopped representing his hometown, and El Paso has never stopped claiming him right back.

It's those little hometown moments that make the episode feel especially meaningful if you grew up watching Eddie or have always admired what he meant to the city.

One thing I appreciated most is that the episode doesn't chase conspiracy theories.

The entire premise of Autopsy: The Final Hours Of... is to revisit the medical facts surrounding well-known figures and separate fact from fiction. In Eddie's case, the episode sticks to the evidence while also celebrating the incredible legacy he left behind.
