Nope, not talking about the Zombies on "Walking Dead"; I mean people who like to walk. Las Cruces was named a city where you can walk almost everywhere. Can you though?

A new study ranked the best cities where you can walk almost everywhere. Their exact words, "almost everywhere". I don't know about that ... unless you're a mega exercise freak who has all day to get from point A to point B.

I know Cruces isn't a huge city but you still can't really walk "everywhere".

Las Cruces, New Mexico is the 2nd largest city in the land of enchantment and a pretty cool place. #2 in the state but still a small town at heart with a population just under 120,000. Enough to, just about, fill the Sun Bowl to capacity. Twice.

Top 10 Cities Where You Can Walk Almost Everywhere

I'm not sure what they mean by "everywhere". If they mean by virtue of nice weather or clear walkways then, yes - you can walk just about everywhere in Cruces. If they mean literally "everywhere"; they have some strong legs.

You can walk everywhere in the mall or everywhere on campus or even everywhere downtown. Everywhere in the entire city though? Nope. Don't believe me? Try walking from NMSU to downtown to Mesilla Valley Mall then to the Pan Am center.

Covering A Lot Of Ground

You could do it, (why, I don't know.), but it's going to take up most of your day as you're going to cover about 30 miles. For only 4 places.

At an average of 3 miles per hour, that's going to take you about 8 and half hours and that's not allowing for you to spend anytime at your destination or to rest. Nonstop.

Legal Speak

Las Cruces is a great city and conditions are great for walking ... in most neighborhoods ... but saying it's a city where you can "walk almost everywhere" should have almost in all caps and a disclaimer that says, "depending on where you're going".
