KLAQ’s New “Rush” Feature Available On KLAQ.COM
There have been many amazing trios in the world of rock (The Police, ZZ Top, Nirvana), but the greatest one of all, came straight out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada over 45 years ago...Rush. Their sound would change and evolve throughout the years, but the partnership between Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson & Neil Peart would be unmatched.
For those who appreciate progressive rock, amazing musicianship, & some of the greatest and most complex compositions to ever exist; KLAQ presents "The Rush Hour" on our High Def channel, Q2 Fridays at 5 pm hosted by yours truly.
Ever since I was a little kid, my father would blast out everything from Rush in the house: from Moving Pictures to Grace Under Pressure, to 2112. I was blown away! From Geddy Lee's amazing singing & his incredible versatility playing bass & keyboards (sometimes simultaneously),
Alex Lifeson's (phenomenally underrated) guitar playing
and of course.. the Master himself. "The Professor On The Drum Kit": Neil Peart!
He was the greatest drummer who has ever lived & the reason I wanted to become a drummer. To this day I have always loved Rush & I hoped that one day I can show my appreciation to the band that has helped me (and MANY OTHERS) through the hardest of times... and that's what "The Rush Hour" is all about.
You can, of course, expect to hear the hits like Tom Sawyer, The Spirit of Radio, Fly By Night, Closer to the Heart (which even myself did a cover you can check out right here) but we'll also throw in some live tracks, trivia, a lot of hidden gems, and even the epics like La Villa Strangiato, Xanadu, By-Tor & the Snow Dog, & The Camera Eye.
