2,000 Thanksgiving Meal Boxes To Be Given Away Saturday by Khalid’s El Paso Foundation

El Paso families feeling the financial pinch and wondering if they will be able to put together a proper Thanksgiving dinner will get some help this weekend from Khalid.

The Great Khalid Foundation, the El Paso R & B singer's locally based non-profit, will be giving away two thousand Thanksgiving meal boxes this year in a community-wide effort to lessen the burden on those in-need.

Born in Georgia, Khalid has lived all over the U.S. and six years in Germany. He ended up in El Paso after his mother was relocated to Fort Bliss, and spent his senior year at Americas High School. Khalid has called El Paso home ever since.

Although he belongs to the world now, The Great Khalid Foundation is his way of staying involved with and doing things for the El Paso community.

The Great Khalid Foundation Great Thanksgiving Giveaway

The Great Thanksgiving Giveaway will be a drive-thru event that will take place at the Mattress Firm in west El Paso on Saturday, November 20, 2021. As many as 2,000 families who need help making Thanksgiving happen will receive a holiday meal box from the The Great Khalid Foundation.

The Great Thanksgiving Giveaway will distribute meal kits that include a frozen turkey and additional food stuff to round out the holiday table, such as side dishes and a pie. Each meal box will contain enough food to feed four to six people, according to the foundation website.

• Mattress Firm, 7840 Picacho Hills (Off Desert Blvd, past Redd Rd.)
• Distribution begins at 7 a.m.
• 1 meal box per vehicle on a first come basis until all 2,000 have been given away
